When you create a course you can decide if you would like it to issue a certificate.

The certificate is automatically issued when the user completes all of the modules in the course.

Certificates will dynamically add:

  • learner name
  • learner email address (optional)
  • course name
  • date passed
  • status (passed or complete)
  • score (optional, if saved by a scorm module)

Editing a certificate for a course

If you would like to edit the certificate for a course simply go to Manage Courses > {choose your course} > Edit Certificate.

From the settings available you can:

  • Issue a certificate - use the toggle switch to enable/disable the certificate for that course
  • Certificate expiry - specify how long a certificate is valid. This will indicate it has expired from the learners home page
  • Certificate reminder - specify how many days warning learners get before their certificate expires
  • Display user email address - toggle between displaying the users email address
  • Display score - toggle between displaying the score, if the course is set to record this
  • Date format - switch between date formats for international and US audiences
  • Certificate background - customise the certificate background for that course

Default certificate backgrounds can be customised under branding options check out the linked article to find out more.
