When a course assignment is set up you have the opportunity to send the users within that assignment a notification letting them know about its availability. This is due to the Assignment Notifications setting being enabled so that users can be notified by email of any new and pending assignments. Additionally Owners, Managers and Reporters will be sent a weekly assignment report so that they can easily monitor learner progress.
Editing notifications
Should you wish to disable the notification settings for assignments you can do so by selecting your user icon at the top right, from the drop down that appears select the MANAGE NOTIFICATIONS button. On the page that follows you will then be able to toggle the switches on or off, as appropriate. Managers, Reporters or Owners will have two options available to them as shown below. Where as learners will only have the option to turn off Assignment notifications for new and pending assignments.
As a Manager, Reporter or Owner you also have the ability to toggle notifications on or off for other users. To do this go ahead and select MANAGE > MANAGE USERS AND GROUPS from the top nav bar. From the list of All Users select the user that you would like to edit email notifications for. You will then be presented with that Users details. In the panel at the top left where the users name and email address are displayed select the "EDIT" button.
You should now be able to see the User Notifications panel simply enable or disable the toggle switch(s) as appropriate for that user and select the "SAVE" button to confirm your selection.
